Sing with
freedom!

My role as a voice teacher is to support and encourage you to trust your voice more and more each moment.

Classical singing and contemporary singing are different artforms.

Unless you want to be an opera singer, I would not recommend that you study with just any kind of voice teacher. I learned this the hard way when I was in college. My voice training then was quite frustrating because I wanted to sound like ME while my voice professor was teaching me to stand, breathe and sound like an opera singer.

I work with singers who want to sound like who they really are inside.

In opera, the goal is to create a sound that projects through the orchestra without a microphone. That’s why opera singers tend to sound so alike, they’re going after a very specific sound. Contemporary singers tend to sound very unique from one another because we have the great luxury of a microphone. This allows us to be our natural and intimate selves and sing however we intend to. This is what lessons are for – to get better at singing how YOU enjoy singing, not to follow a recipe from a heavily biased voice teacher.

It’s nice when others believe in you, but it’s much better when you believe in yourself.

I am a very strong proponent of a simple and reflexive approach to singing. I don’t have complicated, flashy or intimidating instructions. I am ALL about results. I train my students in a way that gets them to find their true voice, expands range, builds strength, prevents damage, significantly increases vocal options and ultimately develops an unshakable deep trust in their vocal abilities and skills. My clients report that they experience a great boost in confidence and ease in themselves and their voices.

I gradually and steadily challenge the voice of my client so that it continues to grow and improve.

I work with singers of all levels who are over the age of 14.

I do not require a commitment, although I recommend it for singers who are serious about their craft. You can take a single lesson or as many as you’d like (based on my availability).

I specialize in contemporary genres like pop, rock, musical theater (contemporary and legit), country, jazz, R&B, soul, folk, singer-songwriter, indie, tropical (merengue, bachata, salsa), EDM, blues, gospel and hip-hop.

For committed singers, I recommend at least one lesson a week. I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons to accommodate different budgets and schedules.

I teach in person in New York City and worldwide via Zoom.

If you have more questions, check out Q&A or Contact me directly.
I’d be glad to answer any questions.

Gabriel gets to work the moment he arrives. He is always on time. He works well with Sabrina and she has fun. He always has a lesson to give her so she can practice for the week. She has taken lessons before but has never been this enthusiastic. Sabrina looks forward for his emails and her next lesson. I would recommend Gabriel to anyone who is interested in singing lessons.

Gabriel has been an incredible teacher. After just a few lessons my voice has completely changed for the better. He has a holistic and unique teaching style such that I never felt the need to overthink anything. Just by doing the exorcises he gave me, my voice began to change on its own. Gabriel has a warm and welcoming personality and I never felt embarrassed or afraid to mess up or sing the wrong note. He is very observant and has been able to target so many things about my singing, from simple technique to deeper mind-set factors. Gabriel is incredibly intuitive in his teaching, he is always listening and reacting to whatever might happen. Every lesson has been jam packed with teachings and I have left every lesson feeling better about my voice and myself. I can’t recommend Gabriel enough. If you want to sing better, or find your voice, or just work out some vocal kinks, Gabriel is your man.

Professional but down to earth. His teaching approach is unique: customized lessons for your needs. Gabriel has techniques that would help students to learn warm-ups and exercises to unlock their full range, and improve their vocal ability. Recommended!

Gabriel is an outstanding vocal teacher! He explains everything he teaches very thoroughly. He is different from all my other vocal teachers, he is not a boring old classical/opera singer. He actually understand what your goals are and he helps you achieve those goals. After having a couple of lessons with him I have already felt the difference in my voice. My voice used to be very tight and scratchy, but now I have learned to be more relaxed and my voice is more open. I do not think that any other vocal instructor has helped me as much as Gabriel has. I definitely recommend Gabriel if you want to become a better singer!

I worked with Gabriel and have to say he helped me so much. Not only in how to discover my own voice, but in confidence and truly feeling the songs I was singing so that my performance is genuine. I now make a living doing music. He is a great teacher that brings out the best in his students

I never expected what he delivers. Amazing teacher! I’m a musician/songwriter who didn’t start out as a singer and new something was not quite right. The physical/mind connection in vocalizing.

This was my first time taking singing lessons and Gabriel was a pleasant surprise. He gave me voice exercises and taped them and emailed them to me later so that I
could practice. He is friendly and welcoming and seemed to know instinctively what I needed to improve my singing. He is a very caring and patient instructor and it is obvious that he really loves being a music teacher. I would strongly recommend him to anyone that would like to improve their singing.

Gabriel has been a patient and friendly voice teacher. He has tailored each of our lessons to the specific goals I have as a singer so that I can develop the skills necessary to achieve them. While there’s still a long way to go, I’ve definitely seen improvement since I started working with him a few months ago. I would recommend him to anyone in search of a voice teacher.

Gabriel is absolutely amazing! He is so passionate about the arts & his love of singing. He sees where your focus is & makes sure that is what you work on… he shows you how to do vocal exercises, how to take control of your voice, how to get wonderful range. He is a fabulous teacher!! He doesn’t just tell you what to do but demonstrates & makes you understand why you are doing certain exercises. He is a great person & you are very lucky to have him as a teacher, I know I am!!!
