Sing with
freedom!

My role as a voice teacher is to support and encourage you to trust your voice more and more each moment.

Classical singing and contemporary singing are different artforms.

Unless you want to be an opera singer, I would not recommend that you study with just any kind of voice teacher. I learned this the hard way when I was in college. My voice training then was quite frustrating because I wanted to sound like ME while my voice professor was teaching me to stand, breathe and sound like an opera singer.

I work with singers who want to sound like who they really are inside.

In opera, the goal is to create a sound that projects through the orchestra without a microphone. That’s why opera singers tend to sound so alike, they’re going after a very specific sound. Contemporary singers tend to sound very unique from one another because we have the great luxury of a microphone. This allows us to be our natural and intimate selves and sing however we intend to. This is what lessons are for – to get better at singing how YOU enjoy singing, not to follow a recipe from a heavily biased voice teacher.

It’s nice when others believe in you, but it’s much better when you believe in yourself.

I am a very strong proponent of a simple and reflexive approach to singing. I don’t have complicated, flashy or intimidating instructions. I am ALL about results. I train my students in a way that gets them to find their true voice, expands range, builds strength, prevents damage, significantly increases vocal options and ultimately develops an unshakable deep trust in their vocal abilities and skills. My clients report that they experience a great boost in confidence and ease in themselves and their voices.

I gradually and steadily challenge the voice of my client so that it continues to grow and improve.

I work with singers of all levels who are over the age of 14.

I do not require a commitment, although I recommend it for singers who are serious about their craft. You can take a single lesson or as many as you’d like (based on my availability).

I specialize in contemporary genres like pop, rock, musical theater (contemporary and legit), country, jazz, R&B, soul, folk, singer-songwriter, indie, tropical (merengue, bachata, salsa), EDM, blues, gospel and hip-hop.

For committed singers, I recommend at least one lesson a week. I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons to accommodate different budgets and schedules.

I teach in person in New York City and worldwide via Zoom.

If you have more questions, check out Q&A or Contact me directly.
I’d be glad to answer any questions.

Awesome instructor, incredibly knowledgeable on the voice and social factors in releasing it. Really an amazing resource, take advantage of his experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for someone to talk you through releasing your voice and your real you.

Learning with Gabriel has been one of the best experiences I’ve had in learning. It’s always been a dream of mine to sing but I’ve always been so self conscious and nervous of how I sound that it killed my confidence. Gabriel has worked with me through various methods and been very patient with working through my own frustrations and self doubt that I’ve finally been able to build some confidence. His practice area is spacious, comfortable, and clean. I’ve only been to 7 lessons but I’ve progressed more in that short time that I have in 28 years of sounding terrible. I would definitely suggest checking Gabriel out if you’re looking for singing lessons, he’s awesome!

Gabriel has a magical quality about his technique and approach. He leaves a lasting impression with his professionalism and his ability to dissect exactly what it is you need. If you are looking for someone to not only teach you how to sing but to also change your life in more ways than one, this is exactly where you need to be. I couldn’t be more grateful of my time with Gabriel. He’s truly a gem.

Gabriel is the kind of teacher that starts by getting to know who you are, and the reason you are looking to take voice lessons. His incredible empathy immediately puts you at ease from the first few minute you meet him, and you know you can trust him to help you improve your singing no matter what level you’re at. He is amazingly intuitive and able to pinpoint the issues and explain them in a way that’s detailed but not overwhelming. He is also very knowledgeable about the anatomy of the voice and will not spare any details. I am a very shy person, so it is very important to me that my teacher is empathetic and can help build up my confidence, and Gabriel adapted his teaching to this right away. Because I am shy, I had trouble singing out, but Gabriel was able to help me discover a part of my voice that I did not know existed. If you’re looking for a versatile, knowledgeable, friendly, skilled teacher, look no further!

Gabriel gets to work the moment he arrives. He is always on time. He works well with Sabrina and she has fun. He always has a lesson to give her so she can practice for the week. She has taken lessons before but has never been this enthusiastic. Sabrina looks forward for his emails and her next lesson. I would recommend Gabriel to anyone who is interested in singing lessons.

Amazing from the first lesson. Gabriel immediately gave me exercises to help my voice come out. He is also helping me find my own voice and individuality. I’ve been a musician for years and I’ve never had a first lesson this productive!

Fear of singing out loud but want to be able to sing without feeling self-conscious or embarrassed? Or see singing as a form of therapy you want to tap into but don’t know where to start? Me too.

I took a trip to NYC for a week looking for an outlet to dust the cobwebs off my voice; having done a lot of different kinds of mind and body healing, it felt like a missing therapeutic element to me to begin singing to express myself authentically. In times of prolonged stress and mental chatter it’s not easy to find that clear, steady, confident singing voice when it’s so out of practice and may feel out of reach.

Gabriel can help to excavate your voice no matter how buried or fledgling it may feel. You can start very simply just by making sounds, and build from there. I can’t recommend Gabriel highly enough!

This was my first time taking singing lessons and Gabriel was a pleasant surprise. He gave me voice exercises and taped them and emailed them to me later so that I
could practice. He is friendly and welcoming and seemed to know instinctively what I needed to improve my singing. He is a very caring and patient instructor and it is obvious that he really loves being a music teacher. I would strongly recommend him to anyone that would like to improve their singing.

Not only has Gabriel become my vocal teacher, but he has also become my Creative Coach. Talk about Holistic Approach to Teaching!! He literally is like the Voice Whisperer. His teaching methodology isn’t about trying to sound like so and so, or wanting to be just like *insert famous singer*– His Method is about helping you BE YOU. UNApologetically. Gabriel will help you Find Yourself. Your Voice. Your way of Communicating to the World. It’s Beautiful, I’m SO GRATEFUL to have found him!!! He’s THE BEST.

If you are looking for traditional boring singing lessons than Gabriel may not be the teacher for you. His approach is unique and unconventional but guaranteed to bring out the best in your vocals. He is passionate about his art and patient. Gives great encouragement but has polite honesty. If my budget allowed I would see him every day because I look forward to every lesson and greatly miss it in between. He is wonderful and professional!
