Sing with
freedom!

My role as a voice teacher is to support and encourage you to trust your voice more and more each moment.

Classical singing and contemporary singing are different artforms.

Unless you want to be an opera singer, I would not recommend that you study with just any kind of voice teacher. I learned this the hard way when I was in college. My voice training then was quite frustrating because I wanted to sound like ME while my voice professor was teaching me to stand, breathe and sound like an opera singer.

I work with singers who want to sound like who they really are inside.

In opera, the goal is to create a sound that projects through the orchestra without a microphone. That’s why opera singers tend to sound so alike, they’re going after a very specific sound. Contemporary singers tend to sound very unique from one another because we have the great luxury of a microphone. This allows us to be our natural and intimate selves and sing however we intend to. This is what lessons are for – to get better at singing how YOU enjoy singing, not to follow a recipe from a heavily biased voice teacher.

It’s nice when others believe in you, but it’s much better when you believe in yourself.

I am a very strong proponent of a simple and reflexive approach to singing. I don’t have complicated, flashy or intimidating instructions. I am ALL about results. I train my students in a way that gets them to find their true voice, expands range, builds strength, prevents damage, significantly increases vocal options and ultimately develops an unshakable deep trust in their vocal abilities and skills. My clients report that they experience a great boost in confidence and ease in themselves and their voices.

I gradually and steadily challenge the voice of my client so that it continues to grow and improve.

I work with singers of all levels who are over the age of 14.

I do not require a commitment, although I recommend it for singers who are serious about their craft. You can take a single lesson or as many as you’d like (based on my availability).

I specialize in contemporary genres like pop, rock, musical theater (contemporary and legit), country, jazz, R&B, soul, folk, singer-songwriter, indie, tropical (merengue, bachata, salsa), EDM, blues, gospel and hip-hop.

For committed singers, I recommend at least one lesson a week. I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons to accommodate different budgets and schedules.

I teach in person in New York City and worldwide via Zoom.

If you have more questions, check out Q&A or Contact me directly.
I’d be glad to answer any questions.

Fear of singing out loud but want to be able to sing without feeling self-conscious or embarrassed? Or see singing as a form of therapy you want to tap into but don’t know where to start? Me too.

I took a trip to NYC for a week looking for an outlet to dust the cobwebs off my voice; having done a lot of different kinds of mind and body healing, it felt like a missing therapeutic element to me to begin singing to express myself authentically. In times of prolonged stress and mental chatter it’s not easy to find that clear, steady, confident singing voice when it’s so out of practice and may feel out of reach.

Gabriel can help to excavate your voice no matter how buried or fledgling it may feel. You can start very simply just by making sounds, and build from there. I can’t recommend Gabriel highly enough!

An incredible vocal coach, full of knowledge and a great teacher. Gabriel taught me how to sing without forcing myself and also how to remove those knots in my throat. An excellent ear to tell right away if you’re flat or sharp. I recommend his knowledge to anyone who wants to take their voice to a whole new level.

Gabriel is absolutely amazing! He is so passionate about the arts & his love of singing. He sees where your focus is & makes sure that is what you work on… he shows you how to do vocal exercises, how to take control of your voice, how to get wonderful range. He is a fabulous teacher!! He doesn’t just tell you what to do but demonstrates & makes you understand why you are doing certain exercises. He is a great person & you are very lucky to have him as a teacher, I know I am!!!

Gabriel is my first vocal teacher and after only one lesson, I could tell my voice had gotten better. Now, after a couple months of working with him, I feel so much more control over my voice. My range has greatly increased and I’m able to sing in different ways. The difference is astounding.

Gabriel gets to work the moment he arrives. He is always on time. He works well with Sabrina and she has fun. He always has a lesson to give her so she can practice for the week. She has taken lessons before but has never been this enthusiastic. Sabrina looks forward for his emails and her next lesson. I would recommend Gabriel to anyone who is interested in singing lessons.
